The need for our Women & Families Shelter has increased due to the lack of affordable housing, inadequate employment training, and a troubled national economy. We offer food, clothing, shelter, and gospel services. Hiway 80 Rescue Mission provides solace and hope in the face of abuse, addiction, or financial problems. Our Women & Families Shelter provides beds for at-risk women and children, along with physical, emotional, and spiritual support in a safe, family-oriented environment.
Single women and mothers work hard to get their lives on the right track and provide stability for themselves and their families. Hiway 80 offers these women a safe place to stay while providing them with the tools to help them rebuild their lives.
When women first come to Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, care begins with meeting their most immediate needs. General Women’s Services provide a safe, welcoming place where women can receive shelter, meals, clothing, showers, laundry, and other basic support during a time of crisis. These services create the foundation for stability by offering dignity, safety, and a place to begin again.

For a family is in crisis, a secure place to stay can be the first step toward healing and long-term stability. Our family cottages have been a significant factor in the long-term success of moms in the shelter. These cottages provide a secure space for families and create a sense of home and belonging. Children are enrolled in school to keep up with their education.
Hiway 80’s Family Cottages provide mothers and their children with a safe, family-oriented place to begin rebuilding stability. More than temporary shelter, the cottages create a sense of home, dignity, and belonging for families walking through homelessness or crisis.

Children are enrolled in school so they can maintain structure, continue their education, and experience consistency during a difficult season. By offering shelter, support, and a more stable family setting, the cottages play an important role in helping mothers move toward long-term success.
The New Direction Program is a nine-month, Christ-centered discipleship program that helps women find healing from the abuse, abandonment, and neglect of the past. Through case management, Bible studies, and work therapy, women are encouraged to grow in their identity in Christ, address the needs in their lives, and take steps toward ending the cycle of homelessness.
Hiway 80’s New Direction Program is a nine-month, intensive, Christ-centered program designed to help women rebuild their lives from the inside out. Many women enter the program carrying the weight of abuse, abandonment, neglect, addiction, homelessness, or other painful circumstances. New Direction provides a structured environment in which they can begin to address those wounds and move toward lasting change.
Through case management, Bible studies, discipleship, and work therapy, women are encouraged to grow in their identity in Christ while developing the responsibility, stability, and support needed for a new future. The goal is not only to meet immediate needs, but to help women break the cycle of homelessness and discover a healthier direction for their lives.
