Our Mission
At Hiway 80 Rescue Mission Ministries, we preach and teach
the word of God while winning souls to Jesus Christ. We accomplish
this by providing the basic staples, food, shelter, clothing
and the opportunity to hear and receive the Gospel.
We are commissioned by our Lord to help the poor and needy not only when it is convenient, but when the needs arise. Therefore in our community of East Texas we hear the cries of the alcoholic, drug addicted, the domestic violence single woman or mother that does not have an advocate. We share the pain of that family that is living in their car, under a bridge or in the near-by wooded area. Who shall come to their RESCUE?
Reaching Our Community's Most Needy
Hiway 80 Rescue Mission Ministries and Women and Family Shelter formerly known as Hope Haven
has been reaching out and touching these lives for over 48 years. Our community
has also heard their cries and has come along side us so that we together can
begin to make a difference.
"Because you care" last year we were able to:
- Serve over 46,000 meals
- Provide over 10,000 nights of lodging
- Had over 7,000 volunteers to help
- Over 50 professions of faith in Jesus Christ
Men's Center
Today our Men’s Center
has been maximized due to lack of employment opportunity, and other lifestyle
concerns.
Over the past few months, we have seen an increase in the number of meals we serve each day. We have also seen an increase in the number of men coming for shelter over the past year. About 60% of the people we serve are from the East Texas area.
Women and Family Shelter
Our Women and Family Shelter has seen
an increase of women and mothers with children due to lack of affordable
housing and inadequate employment training.
We offer food, clothing, shelter, and gospel services. Children are enrolled in school so they can keep up with their education. Single women and mothers work hard to get their lives on the right track and provide stability for themselves and their family.
Tyler Outreach Center
Hiway 80 Rescue Mission has been asked to come to Tyler, TX to preach and teach the word of God, win souls to Jesus Christ, provide food, shelter, clothing, and offer discipleship & recovery programs through existing programs at Hiway 80 Rescue Mission Ministries in Longview, TX.
