June 28, 2019 the women's New Direction Program will be graduating three women at 10:00 am at the Patsy Lacy Griffith Chapel, 3105 W. Marshall Ave. The New Direction program is a ten month program for women who have struggled to overcome the trauma and abuses in their lives. All three women are working to reestablish healthy community in their lives and are considering ways they can continue to build others up in Christ. All three have been a part of local churches and have engaged in a variety of church activities and Bible studies.
Misti Henley is working to restore family relationships, especially with her three sons. She is looking forward to obtaining professional certifications that will help her establish a career in teaching and has the desire to give back to the women's ministry.
Linda Morones is working to restore her relationship with her daughter and other family members. Since being at Hiway 80 and participating in the program some of her family members have reconnected with church and have made changes in their own lives after seeing the changes Christ has made in Linda's.
Amanda Meek has spent a lot of time learning healthy approaches to self care instead of turning to drugs and alcohol. Amanda has set a goal of obtaining her GED, getting a driver's license and steps to transition into independent living.
